Transylvanian -Softneck Gourmet Garlic

This variety became popular in the 1990’s in Romania. It was grown in a small village in the Transylvanian Mountains. This is our only softneck for 2021.  “Store bought” garlic is generally softneck and they tend to have less bite than a hardneck variety,

This garlic packs heat but can be eaten raw or cooked mildly to pack a  significant garlic flavor to any dish. This is our go-to for pesto.

The bulbs and cloves are large with a classic spicy-hot garlic flavor. Transylvania has white bulbs with marbled purpling and an average of 7-9 cloves each and will store well for 7-9 months.
